Be gentle yourself! That's awfully nice work!

Overall composition is good but not quite sure about the orange flare in front of her face. Infact I don't think that the lens flare works in this image, take out the lens flare have some slightly darker mist at the back and build up the front with lighter mist, to give a sense of depth, unless of course it is intended to make it look like the sword is generating the mist? The lens flare in this pic seems to come from nowhere, it should have a light source. Take a look at this link and look at the images to see were the flare is compared to the light source. http://jonathanclark.com/diary/flare/ In the past when I have seen people post their first images and have had their responses back I have not seen them re post with the changes and in some cases I have not seen them post again. It is a shame since it was them that asked for comments. All comments are good comments provided they are constructive. Keep at it, as I will with my work. Remember though, if you like it then that is all that really matters if others like it, it is a bonus.

VERY nice use of the focus tool. I like this! Great! Is the fog also P5? If so, I am in awe! :o)

Cheers for the comments. As for the lens flare, thank you for the links they will be helpful in the future, but for this picture I set up a spot light in roughly the same position as in the pic with a large knife and viewed it through a camera to get an idea of how the lens flare would look. Where the light hit the knife it looked similar to this. Not exactly, and I didn't notice the red splodge on her face. :( Thank you for the comments and hopefully I will post something totally different by next Monday. You are all great

Very complex image for a first, well done! I would suggest that the flare would be somwhat less in mist. :)
