Description

This is the gauge at the bottom right of the "O" Check out the glass real close. It has cracks in it. These cracks are modeled. I first created the glass with the section broken out. Then I created the cracks as a seperate object in the freeform modeler. I used the pen tool to create the geometry shaped like cracks. The cracks object was the same width as the glass. Texture: Glass object has, well, a glass texture on it. Cracks object has a 100% reflective mirror texture on it. Cracks in glass act like mirrors. Tah-Dah

hey cutcopypaste... ummmm this is just a closeup of another post... the original was for a specific purpose SPECIFICALLY designed without a background... ummmm so.. THAT comment may not be approriate... nor the comment about the 'bungled product' - looks like it works fine to me...? as for the quality of this render... the texturing and the rust of the metal are great... the meter looks damn near photographic... THAT to me says 10. you might be one of those folks with a bone to crunch for some odd reason, but i think this pic is cool.

Very clever approach to the cracked glass. Nice job, and it looks excellent! Wondering if this is C or RDS.... Just curious.
