Description

At the time I created this image (1995-1996) the only tools available to me to create the type/kind of "fractals" what I wanted were Photoshop, tools, filters and a variety of other 3rd Party Plugins. I also used Painter, but this one was done in PS. And while this image isn't a fractal per se, I knew/know that many of the tools and filters exclusively used fractal algorithms to create the "post-processing" effect. This image, and hundreds of others I created during this period were done thru a method, process or routine I came up with whereby I started out with a blank canvas, and then used the PS graident tool to apply random areas of gradient color. I then used such other tools as "smudge", etc., to alter these areas, and then began to apply various PS/KPT/other third party filters. Once I had a "nice pattern", I then would copy and paste another instance of the basic pattern and use the layers/blending function/feature and "rotate" the top and bottom layers to create a secondary image. Often I would then continue to apply different/various filters to further shape the motif/image until I was satisfied with it. So essentially the entire image is/was created using "post-processing" tools/techniques--in that instead of using "post-processing" to change/alter some original image/creation, I used these tools to create original work.

Like a work done in jade carving... and got's to have the eye and imagination to create, doesn't matter if it's pixels or anything else... and the will to experiment. Salute you.

This is VERY cool, Bryan! Like a golden statue bored Mayan god. The process you used to create this sounds like it took one heckuva lot of skill and creative vision. Amazing! We're not worthy...we're not worthy...

Perhaps the term "post-processing" isn't defined clearly enough? All in all a very personal POV :-) BTW: I like this image! And I'd like to see more of your oldies.
