Description

It's always an interesting experience when I go back and look at an "old" image that I created. This one was done around 1995-96. What's interesting to me is while these particular motfs are abstract in nature, the still seem to act as "mental memory markers" in the very same way as photos or other graphical images which are composed of more traditional or readily identifiable subjects. While "time" isn't often part of the memory associated with theimage, often other memorys are; like the stage of skill development I was at, what processes I used, and more importantly, what I saw or felt as the composition was created. In this case, the words from the old Moody Blues song "Melancholy Man" came to mind--which go something like this... "...and a beam of light will fill your head, and you'll remember what's been said, by all the good men this world has known..." You can view this image to learn more about the processes I used to create this image.

If I may say so, the image is not very melancholic. :) Except for the green, perhaps. Lovely work!

Amazing image, Bryan! I really like all the stuff going on and the bright light thats arcs across the image. Wow - '95-'96??? This is excellent for present times but when I think of what was going on with fractals at the time - Fractint - this was an amazingly innovative work for that time period.
