Description

-------- SAN DIEGO 2003 SERIES #9 - COMIC CON and A LOOK AT SAN DIEGO -------- Continuing the San Diego/Comic Con series. See image #1 ('Reflections at 2am') for more info on the event. -------------------------------------------------------- This was a shot which I didn't think would come out at first. I didn't have a tripod or anything, so I had to steady it on the near by rockpile seperating the land from the ocean. That was a bit difficult as the rocks were not totally solid near the top. This one also went for a super long exposure, and created a rather near orange glow around everything. This is the main harbor at San Diego, and this shot was taken in front of the Greek resturant in Seaport Village. What you can't see is the big USS Constellation Aircraft Carrier just to the outside left of the image across the bay! Camera is a Minolta Dimage 7hi (5 megapixels). Reduced in size about 33%. I had the camera set to the fastest shutter speed I could to get enough light and make less room for camera shake. Focus was manual.

It is an awesome image. Definitely worth all the trouble to get it! Excellent.

Hi Michelle! No, actually, no NeatImage applied! I force my camera to always shoot as ISO100. Yeah, I know longer exposure times, but it really reduces the noise level.
