It was a g.i. test of the free Mental Ray (beta) some time ago. If you're referring to the areas around the window frame.. yes, no idea why all the hot spots appeared. Guess that's why they called it a beta. If I can find the old scene I'll try a re-render with Maya 5 ;)

Omg.. this is nice.. can i come with a tip ? hehe ok.. anyways.. in one of the eggs put a little dragon :) and let the light do so you can see the dragon inside like a "shadow" just a cool tip i think,anyways Very nice work done here :)
