Description

Now this is why I like Cinema, I can just render this while working on something completely different! Almost no slowdowns on workflow. This ball was rendered in 5 hours and uses a background HDRI. If you want to know more about how HDRI works and want to download some samples and thewatershader I used for this image, go to: http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=76542 I also fiddled a bit with Thinking particles to get them to stick to the ball so they would form waterdroplets. Comments greatly appreciated :) =Daan=

You have done it just right, this is really great! Is it a map for the stones or geometry? :))

Beautifully lit. But there should be a ripple around the ball where it meets with the water. Love the droplets though.

Simple, elegant and very clean. I saw this when you posted it to CGTalk and I downloaded your files as soon as they were available :) Now if I could only save up enough money to get R8 (and BP2) so i could try this for myself...

Very impressive. I would like to learn more about your thinking-particles-sticking-to-the-ball technique.

that is really good... I have no idea what you are talking about 'thinking particles' and I do 3D imaging for architecture for a living... but I never do particles... no need... would love to hear more about how to get this 'wet look' and should learn more about Cinema 4D.
