Hello, first of all I would like to thank you for visiting. I am a 15 year old student in California currently using Cinema 4D, Terragen, and Photosho as my weapons of choice. I am trying to develop my 3D modeling, design and animation skills to land me a job someday. I appreciate all of you that take the time to comment on my work and visit my homepage here at this wonderful site.

well, you need a light closer for 1, 2nd caustics really only work through a transparent material such as glass or water
strata
How did you lit your scene? That matters a lot. Did you activate caustics in the proper places?

Caustics is the bending of reflected/refracted light. A metal ring will cast an inner diacaustic reflection just as much as a piece of glass will refract light into concentrated amounts as it passes through it. You may want to bring your light source down a bit and closer to your objects; then look in the C4D manual to make sure you have all of the neccessary settings. Keep trying, caustics are NOT easy.
