Description

Ooookay folks. This one only took a while cos I needed to find all the bits I needed.for it. Isn't that always the way? Starting off, my apologies to the people whose church burned for using the picture of it. It looks quite a lot like the church on the cover of Issue 1, which incidentally is where I lifted the title logo. The G in God is in the 'Crusade' font. The numbered bible style text (With Reverend Custer's words in Gold) is partly mine. I wrote the exposition. The dialogue between DeBlanc and Jesse is from Preacher: Issue 4, pages 14, 16, and 17. My apologies also to the people who took a picture of their crying infant with a fish eye lens and put it on the internet where unscrupulous people like me could get hold of it. The smoke behind Jesse's church came from two different pictures. There's the highway beneath their feet (It was supposed to be a road trip book after all.) and the other desert highway pic, doubly reflected in Cassidy's sunglasses. (Amazing how hard the easiest items can be to find. Jesse is made up of a pair of white pants from the Nordstroms page. A black t-shirt that I had to turn into a button down. Some deformation and paint went into the collar once I found one to put on top of the shirt. The gold whatsits on his collar I made myself. The leather jacket, bible, and cigarette were found items. I painted the smoke. Finally Jesse's head is actually made of two different Depp pictures. One was the right pose and expression. The other was the right hair. Tulip was made with a found pair of jeans and a top +Right Arm from a model taken from Ami's Angels. The arm with the .50 Cal Desert Eagle in it was found on a page full of women firing guns pics. The Magnum itself was found in a seperate Google search. The pic of Mary Stewart Masterson is from a press photo of her when she did 'Some Kind of Wonderful'. (Way before she did Benny & Joon with Depp!) The top of her head had been cut off, so her hair was filled out with a sort of matching messy blonde style from a hairstyles page. Cassidy was a found T-Shirt, a denim Vest, a pair of ripped jeans, The sunglasses, twin spherized pics of a highway for the lenses and Ewan MacGregor's head. Painted in are some of the old bloodstains and the sunset on his and Tulip's cheek. (Yeah I know that should be setting him on fire. It's pretty, okay?) In the credits below, Rachael Talalay (Tank Girl) is mentioned cos last I heard she was doing the movie. (Here's hoping they don't give her the hard time the studio gave her when she was making Tank Girl.) Lance Henrikson is mentioned cos he'd make a good Saint of Killers (Have a look at 'Dead Man' by Jim Jarmusche (SIC?), which stars Depp. Henrikson's pretty close to the Saint there.) I mention Trevor Jones as doing the music cos I like him, and Elfman, as much as I like him, would give it TOO much of a goofy feel. Mentioned as Associate Producer is my good pal Hepzibah, who was nice enough to point out all the mistakes I made whilst rushing to complete this one. The sunset picture was just TOO good and appropriate. Like the fires of hell were pouring out of Heaven from the dark and ominous clouds. Had to use it. There's the WB logo, taken from their page. And finally, my own at the bottom left. Finally, I scribbled a note from Jesse to Tulip in the top right corner. The significance of that saying I'll leave to you to find if you haven't read this fine piece of fiction. Treat yourself. 'You Better Pray' was taken from an early advertisement for the series by DC/Vertigo. And that sentence about god not being dead? All me baby. That's all me. Thanks for reading this far! Hope you enjoyed it and the pic as well. -WinterRose
