Hmmmm, yes ...I think what the artist is trying to achieve here is triumphal! The architecture in question has been trivalent in its treatment. In doing so, he/she has juxtaposed colour and texture to elucidate, I think subconsciously, the father, son and holy ghost with the three very attractive openings on the facing architecture. To that end, what could have been a standard rendition of Italian masonry, has in effect become an iconoclastic triptychal treasure ...a tour de force of religious propititiousness. That's what I think, anyway!! :))) M.
