Good dog! Very realistic, the lighting matches the background well.

You might think about re-texturing both the dog and the figure... they both look pretty plastic. And the lighting could really use some improvement... you've captured the "harshness" of noon-time sunlight, but that white sand would be bouncing a hell of a lot more light back up at her than you've got here. Did you make that dog? The dog (model-wise) looks pretty good.

Hello M3D, there are shadows in the background, they're just coming straight down. Rgoer: I never made the dog, it's the Poser dog. I can only really make furniture in C4D. I don't have the time to practise with it as much as I'd like to. MV: Thanks for your kind words of encouragement.

Forgot to say, the ground was a plane and the light was thrown up like that with radiosity. So I did away with the radiosity and added a light which did the same effect.

Just ditch the hideous poser figures. Rather than do everything else, you should start with some better models, ones that you made yourself.

MV: At least I'm one of the few folk here that admit to using Poser figures. I've seen pictures in this gallery which clearly uses Poser characters and animals and gets excellent ratings, because the artist doesn't point out that they didn't make them. This is the only gallery where pictures with Poser figures get slagged off on a regular basis. I've not seen this happen in any other gallery. Nor have I seen it happen with pictures which have used imported meshes. Strikes me as software snobbery on the part of a lot of people.
