Description

Inspired by an article in "surface" magazine: "Big Fun" featured a wonderful series of buildings designed by Foster and partners. I decided immeately to try to model some in bryce. -*- Nr. 2: You are about halfway up the atrium. The "concrete" part is a boolean - carved a prolate spheroid from a large cylinder. Thin glass wall "skin" inside that. The built up the central thing from glass and chrome 'picture frames'. I tried to scale them but much of that gets negated in the wide angle distortion. Too late I noticed that one handrail is not touching the floor - oops. Aber Schade - not rendering again - [85hrs!! render on the dual 1.42GHz mac G4]. -*- thanks for viewing!

Great sense of distorted perspective really adds to the grand scale of the building. And as for that handrail, you can fix it easily in PS with the clone tool and no one is the wiser. Excellent work.

I just love getting the emails telling me you made a new image, they are always a pleasure to view. Now to your work: Outstanding! However because of that one huge, glaring error of that handrail I can only give this an excellent! :) I enjoy the depth of that center polygonal pillar. Very interesting to look at.

Dizzying, for a vertigo-victim like me, Jim. The "escaping" perspective adds to the feeling. 85 hours well worth the wait (I know, it's easy to say that when you're NOT the one who's waiting for that darn white crawling line to reach the bottom of the screen...) ___ Fascinating as per usual.
