BIOBorn in Brooklyn, N.Y. (Yo! Vinny)
One brother, one sister.
At the age of three my parents decided to move
us all to a tiny mind numbing town in upstate
N.Y. where I became a smart ass brat, got into
tons of trouble, was thrown out of school at fifteen, got a job with Dad and drove trucks for twenty years! Until... Still being a smart ass, I lost my license drag racing, drinking beer, and telling a cop what he could do with his night stick! (he took me literally, it wasn't pretty)Anyway, I finally decided to get my act together. I took a class and recieved my GED where I was introduced to computers. I liked what I could do and decided to learn more. Eight months of applications for financial aid later I wound up in Ulster County Community College where I achieved an Associate Degree in Advertising Design and Graphics Technology... and to my suprise (and everyone's who knew me) Graduation with honors and a scholorship to New York University... Where I recieved a BS, and where I am now employed as an instructor and staff of their Multimedia lab. So now I teach a photoshop class along with co-teaching a video production class and create Educational Videos (not those kind, get your minds out the gutter) I work in all aspects of production from conception to post-production editing where I have my most fun creating graphics, intros, and special effects to incorporate into the video.

You've captured an incredibly strong mood here. Afraid of what is through the door, yet still tempted to look. I just love dark art. Wonderful!

ditto the eloquent lalani... a very strong emotion, gave me a visceral reaction (then again i'm playing silent hill 3 lately so my creep-o-meter is highly sensitised -lol). beautiful, elegant, and transfixing.

How does one critique images that come from the heart of an artist? I have no idea.... This is an image that strikes at the emotions of the viewer...... Often these types of images may have technical flaws, but the flaws don't matter, because the image speaks. So what do I say?
I could say that your highlights are burned out and you have no details in your shadows. I could say that there is lots of grain...not that there is a technical problem with that but I prefer less......but ya know what it doesn't matter, because this is a piece of art. This image speaks from your heart, and that makes it perfect. :~)

Oh cool! I always wanted to learn to do this type of photography. I don't know what it's called though. Very creative and emotional. It kinda reminds me of when I was a kid and would have to get up for something at night and the door was right there, but I was so scared for my feet to touch the floor for fear of what was under the bed, so I would jump really far from the bed and run lol. I'd do the same to get back into it. This would make a great webpage background too! Wonderful start of a series =) Cris
