I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

Excellent work Bob. The pov and the atmo are wonderful. To get other colours in the strata you must rework the BMP in PSP7 or Photoshop. You can change the colours or make it more clear/dark. Or you can add. more child layer to the strata layer to cast it a bit.

I think this one is great. Why should we always render things like they are in nature ? I think this is more interesting. The only thing is the horizon which is not horizontal, but that's a problem for us all when dealing with square worlds :)

Very strange (caused by the strata and terrain) but I really like it!
