This is absolutly amazing! I only have one little thing that kinda grabbed my attention: In the lower left, there's two shadows on the water (fish?) but they stand out and it just doesn't look like they should be there. Anyway, this is an amazing picture and it does look totally real! GOOD JOB!

You're getting there! The texturing on the rocks is very good, but the rocks themselves still lack some shaping that makes for photo-realism (the rock shapes don't quite match the texture shapes). The water is fantastic. The little lines of bubbles in the bottom part don't quite make it, but the water toward the top with the rock bed showing through is perfect to me. You also need a more detailed texture on the dead tree. Overall, it is a truly great piece; the best you've posted so far.

This is very interesting work. The water plane looks like a photo of rushing water and is VERY real. The rest looks like very well done 3D artwork. I like to see this type of thing it is very inspiring. Excellent and Thank you.

Water and rocks look very real, however I agree with BountifulKnight about the dead wood. Still this is an excellent piece of work, very well done!

The water is excellent. The wood and the rocks look somehow painted. Maybe some wet spots, drops or higher contrast on the rocks would add some realism. Nevertheless an excellent piece of work. I really would like to know more about the technique you used.

I like it too :) You've made an excellent blend of the water-photo and the 3D rocks!

Please tell me that the water texture is an image and not a procedural Vue material, or i'll put myself in a monastery for the rest of my life...:). The rocks look great too. i don't know about photorealism, seems like it's a hot issue here recently, but i sure like your work on this one!

I disagree with the above critics about the rocks and dead tree. It's an excellent composition.

So the water is an alphaplane right? If not...I would love to kow how you modeled it, and the textures used. Great job!

Nish, I think the thing about the rocks and dead tree that attracts comment is that they are "only" (!) very good and therefore suffer in comparison to the water which is truly amazing. And I really can't convince myself how the latter was done. If it is an alpha-plane image, why do we have the two "shadow" artefacts lower left? And the short linear highlights most evident in the extreme foreground don't look like an image to me. Maybe two superimposed terrains with an image and a semi-transparent procedural texture overlay? I do hope rodluc will consent to share his secet!
