on the night before leaving Kenya, Nicole and i met with Kanana who is on the left of the photo. Kanana and my daughter Genevieve became good friends in 2001 when Gennie and i came to see her graduate with the first full graduation of Kenya Methodist University (KEMU). we also where there to finish out the chlorination and clean water distribution system for the University. Gennie and Kanana became great friends. Kanana met Nikki and me in Nairobi the last day we were in Kenya this summer to give us gifts for Gennie and some others. i recently got word thru a long trail of e-mails that Kanana was killed July 19th, just two weeks after meeting us by a driver trying to evade the police. she was walking to the University of Nairobi to take her final exams for her Masters when this happened.
