Prisoner of Dubya

I am angry. Angry at you for stealing my country and my title "American". You are not American. You and your "patriots" who would steal my rights too. I am American.
Thanks to some free bground site for the lovely flag picture.

I do not agree with all aspects of our American government but I believe that the best candidate won the election. You should be greatful you live in a country where you can whine and complain about political figures, and their actions without consequence.

Well Ragman it does sound like you are rather pissed at something. Maybe a little clarification on who stole what and what rights have been taken from you would fix things.

I agree with Seven Wolves, would love to know what/who you are pissed at. Have dear friends that were "real" POWs, would like to think this is not insulting thema and their sacrifice.

I wouldn't dream of insulting your friends. I'm clearly only targeting Bush and the USAPA.

i'm Not american but i think you guys are not seeing the serious issues here. Bush took a stand against terror, other countrys didn't knew what to do, maybe if Bush didn't free iraq today USA would probably attacked again and again. i don't belive that Americans would like to die at their home because someone is insane and does not have any problem to use quimical weapons!!

By the way, one of my friends might be sent to Kosovo. She is part of a med-evac unit from WV. At the same time a lot of other units from WV have not been called back. One unit was activated for flood duty and then sent over to Iraq. They were not given adequate equipment over in the middle east to defend themselves. Senator Byrd complained about the way they we were being treated but to no avail. Why? Because WV has less electoral votes than other states and because the states has traditionally sent a large number of soldiers to every war...

@3dtiger: OK, I am one of those guys "who are not seeing the serious issues here". I still cannot see what invading Iraq had in common with fighting in the war on terror. Bush keeps repeating that the two are one. Call me stubborn and oldfashioned but I still believe that propagandistic repetition is no proper replacement for an explanation. So what the hell had the Iraqi government in common with Al Qaida? That Saddam wears a mustache? That he speaks Arab? That he hates the US? Four months after the end of the war the invasion forces still haven`t found any forbidden weapons in Iraq. There is still no evidence, not even a hint that Saddam cooperated with Al Qaida. Even a most preliminary analysis shows that Saddam and Al Qaida are like fire and water and certainly no "allies". Saddam is a nationalist, Al Qaida is an international movement. Saddam is unreligious, Al Qaida are religious fanatics. Saddam is a totalitarian control freak who cracked down on any religious movements. It is only now that his power apparatus is gone that Iraq becomes a breeding ground for islamic fundamentalist groups. And if Iraq's neighbors didn't fear the crippled Iraqi Army why should the US which are half a world away? The real reason was oil. Saudi Arabia is becoming unreliable. It was time to invade another oil-rich country, install a puppet-regime and keep the oil flowing. I think it possible that Dubbya has the best intentions and has little or no zynicism. Its rather Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld who have been pressing for war on Iraq on since Sept.12th. They were determined to use any pretext. Finally they cooked up one.

I think Ragman refers to restricted civil rights and the creation of gaps in the law so that people can theoretically lose their citizenship and be taken to Guantanamo or other places where the Bush-administration allows itself a kind of lawlessness. Or the claim that the american soldiers while 'fighting for the good' cannot be called to account for breaches of international law. So 'the good ones' look like criminal outlaws. And he seems to reflect the hate against the USA which this administration unnecessarily woke up all over the world.

good to see these issues being confronted around here. don't know what to think of it if it didn't have it's title i'm not american, but i see lots of things wrong caused by various US gouvernments since WW2. with out getting carried away lets just say, all of it's been masked and all of it is about money and power. like sage francis says "the makeshift patriot, the flag shop is out of stock, i hang myself at half mast"
