Description
Where I live in N.S.W. Australia, there are so many of these birds living in a local lake, they are really beautiful.
At the moment the Black Swans have been living in paddocks in small ponds formed from recent rain, and feeding in the mud or in the field itself, mingling with the cows. They are very near the road, but extremely shy. If you stop to take a photo or look, they quickly go the other way or take off. Its the first time I have seen them there so close up. It has been an absolutely a wonderful sight to see so many of them so close for so long.
However, for this image I chose to use Linda White's backgrounds from the Princess Diaries (Reverie and Riverside) and made them into one. I also used the Flood Filter from Flaming Pear. Postworked in PhotoImpact 8. Swans rendered in P4.
Featuring Lyne's (VistaNet) excellent Swan package.

Very nice! But if the big swans are the parents of all those cute little-ones, how come they both are black and their offspring white?
PointLady
To answer Calanthe's question regard the offspring of black swans. The juveniles are covered in grey fluffy down until they produce their first feathers, which are grey-brown in colour. Thanks for all the comments. Jan

Oh, the cygnets are so cute. I'd LOVE to see some black swans. I've heard about them, but never seen them. This is just lovely, Jan. Australia is one place I'd really like to visit. (That and Hawaii...LOL) Beautiful work.

OH this is wonderful!!! My swans are so happy in their new home! :)) I can't tell where the background begins from the foreground - perfect!
