The animation itself is not the problem... it's the render time. There are over 200 hammers in this scene. Even with low AA and at a small resolution LightWave still needs ages for each frame.

It wouldn't be too bad. Just leave the camera in one place and render enough frames to get one row past, and the next in the exact same location as the previous and then loop it. They'll march infinitly. That wouldn't take nearly as many frames.

Turn the ray recursion limit down to 2 or 3, watch the render fly.
