Description
I went on an amazing hike yesterday into Mount Revelstoke National Park. I think it was about a 28 kilometer jaunt altogether. I will post shots from this excursion over the next few days.

Why, why flies? The flower would have looked so beautiful without them - nice colors, great DOF... But I guess you wouldn't like just a candy flower shot, huh? Wanted to spice it up a notch, make it a bit creepy? :D Well, 100% success for me :)))

I guess Niutek is right. Deep down it is hard for me to post flower shots. There were tiny flies all over the wildflowers up in this alpine meadow. I guess they were eating nectar.

The flower is beautiful as is the picture.... as to the flies....well at least they're not in their larval stage....

I think the flies add to the richness of the photo. They're very sharp and full of interesting color and detail. Love the fuzziness of the middle of the flower too. Excellent! Looking forward to the rest of the series. :)

Its easy to see beauty in a flower, but take a good look at the flies wings. So gossamer and delicate. The flies are an integral part of the life of the flower, providing pollination services. You cant have one without the other. I think this photo is wonderful, but then I think all of Matts photos are great.
