Very seldom I paint outside, But here I tried to catch the mood of a small lake at sundown in the middle of the forrest in a mostly abstract way For the August theme in 2D Forum

I cannot judge if you captured what you wanted to capture. I just can say that the way you built up colours and textures is IMO magnificent.

One of the most fascinating and aesthetic things I ever saw in an art exhibition was at an exhibition of graduate students. One of them had taken an entire series of close-up photographs of the sides of boats, where the water-line fell: at these water-lines the metal ones were rusting and the wooden ones were also corroding, and the paint was either running or peeling, sometimes both. The natural patterns of decay combined with the bright colours of the paint made for a beautiful series of abstracts, most commonly bringing to mind natural landscapes... this painting of yours reminds me very closely of that :-)
