Description

August, 1996. Wish I could recall where on the Oregon coast I took this. Anybody recognize it? Don't know why I didn't wait for that family to wander off...

this would be a super shot, although, i find it kinda funny in a surreal way... like, what is that family doing there, obviously admiring your photo... really, really up close! can't blame them :D

Yeah, thrust 'em all in the trunk of that car along with the fence and drive away from the scene... This is beautiful, Steve. The compo and colors are stunning. Even with The Simpsons :D

Tourists--bah! Your perspective and DOF is perfect, the flowers and sky frame the lighthouse so well!! Awesome!!

No! I was about to say that the family works great there, it's almost like you asked them to pose. I think it gives the lighthouse a more human element. I would have cropped out the bottom half of the photo however, focus more on the top stuff.

Hmmm... cropped it would have been a different photo... maybe the tourists had seemed less out of place in the cropped verion... But I think I like it better as it is, I like the big spot of yelleow flowers...

Remove them by hand right now, makes the landscape much smaller!

Man...u have the best clouds and the brightest yellow flowers there. I'd like to see the same scene without the family.

Taking just the top of the pic it would make a great ad WITH that family. "Come and have a perfect holiday in ...". I hate it, if people just won't go away, but actually these guys are probably not even to blame, cos I'm not too sure whether they knew you were there. Well at least now you know how to spend your next holidays: Travel all over the states to find this spot again. Have my fingers crossed for you that they haven't torn down the lighthouse by now :-)

Here I am, Here I am!! A little late....different time zones ya know!! This is beautiful...the colors rock you know! I think the people make this a great travel ad..... but I find the car disturbing, the fence doesn't bother me. I say go back and shoot again, without the car and family.

This is lovely...however, I would get rid of that unsightly Lighthouse and invite them all Home for a Cup of Jasmine Tea and some Cream Buns. Pick some nice Flowers...and clean that Sky with Potato Shop....keep it up Sonny...You have come a long way since I have been helping You. Hugz :)

Oh the traumas of a landscape photographer that is a perfectionist:) Like you, my initial reaction is "GET OUT OF THE WAY", but upon reflection, the do add some perspective / scale to the lighthouse:) Agree with Michelle, that it's the car that is the big problem:( I also like the cloud, that looks as though it is reaching down to swot them out of the way:) Having said all that, it is, as always, a pleasure to look at your breathtaking shots:)

Now THIS is a lighthouse. I know what you mean about waiting for the people to move off, I've done that too many times.

Great shot Steve as always, even with the imposters and the car! Did you take a picture of what they were looking at - it must have been interesting for them to hand around for so long :)
