Description
This is a concept toy by myself and a partner. This project illustrates the entire Rapid Prototyping process. The figure was created and posed in Poser 5. Some tweaks in Light wave were done. Then prepped for Machining. Parts were milled from the front and back in 2 1/2s. The Picture of Blue stuff is the machined parts. Notice the pins on the flat surface that are used for keying to mold 1/2s together. See the mold it is the light blue torques color. All mechanics were modeled in Rhino and milled using the same process. After a snap mold is done I can cast the final part any material that I need. Do to final clean up work and make a final master mold. A final casting then paint.
Thank god for my new machine. It can handle milling the entire figure in ONE machine set up. With a huge table size of (28W X 19L Y 6H Z) with also the ability to machine a part utilizing 4th axis. That means a single part can be milled and rotated on all 4 sides to completion. Cool Stuff.
