Description

The woodsman tried to keep his temper, as he explained to the women that art is subjective, fun is also subjective, and that they should trod carefully in his domain. ********** Aaron, Taylon, Willow, V2 Hunter Thanks, RDNA, Dave71, Danae, Dark Whisper, Kromekat, Varian ********** Is it art? Is it trash? Was it fun to do? Did I enjoy myself and maybe learn something? Perhaps those here who know me can see I'm a bit disturbed by folks who are self-appointed experts and who come out of the blue to pass judgement on what is, for me, an enjoyable hobby and a great stress reliever. Apologies for the soapbox! 8o) Thanks to all for your many kindnesses and your encouragement. And thanks, as always, for looking!

Excellent as usual Djeser. Well, sometimes this keepers of the pure doctrine have to show their importance. Don't worry. Even when i'm not into fantasy stuff like that, i can see and respect the quality and accurateness you put into your work. So should others. Art or not, i don't care. A discussion that probably goes back to the first cave paintings.

Christie...Your work continues to impress and amaze me. You seem to have really gotten ahold of Poser. I do agree with Wabe, and look forward to more of your wonderful work. James

I had to look back to find the comment that had angered you Christie, I feel certain I found it and can understand why. The character in question has used animals and other models in their own images, and probably they are either bought models or freestuff, the person does not make any comment on the constituent items in their images. The failure to state that there is outside input frequently stops me commenting on images, I like to be aware of the artists own input. But presuming the character has used others models, plus of course the use of Vue ready made trees, how can the same person criticise the use of Poser. Although I can and do model my own figures, if a Poser figure served the purpose I would use that instead. I only have the basic Poser 4, and Michael and Vicky 1, and they have no clothes as such yet, Im still working on it, as I cant afford all the extras, so I have been limited on its use. People that pass Poser figures off as their own creations I have a problem with, but those acknowledging the use of Poser and using it well, then I think its perfectly acceptable. To me all the things available in computer art are just tools, its the way they are used that is important, I think your doing well with those tools, so I would just disregard the comment. Anyway nice work on the latest image, and just remember when the first pastel artists started displaying their images, those using oils and having to wait for them to dry, almost certainly complained that pastel paintings werent real art. :) Dave

Somehow I missed your previous post. Now I understand why you are a bit irritated. Art is art, whatever form it is and everyone should respect that. If someone doesn't like it, either give a constructive comment or just walk away to the next one. Anyway, as for the picture, the is excellent as usual. You are one of the very few Vue user who does the Poser best (in Vue). & ehm! Dij, the one in the middle (leaning at the tree), is she available? :-)

Well, I sure can understand your frustration DJ. With all the multi id users and cheats in this place comments like that ignorant fools are to be expected I guess. Of course Renderosity does nothing to stop this type of thing. Very sad when innocent people like yourself are negatively affected. There is no accountability here on this site so I guess we all just need to be tough to see it through. I doubt very much the same person would have the gal to say such a thing to your face. I am sure he would be slapped from you and get a knuckle sandwich from me. Shoop walks away shaking his head.

Our community is filled with more good people than the critical self rightous ones... take heart and don't ever stop creating art!! Art EXPRESSES .. for the artist, and then for the viewer... art provides such a wonderful way to exchange and engage in communication (and relax and PLAY!).. NO MATTER THE MEDIA!! Hugs! I love this very image that expresses your feelings! Good for you.. those ladies look like the woodsman better watch out! :)

Hey Djeser, i love your work and i love your attitude :) And don't take it to your heart... We all have varied tastes and different opinions. It's just too bad that some people prefer to express them in an unpleasant way... You just keep on being the great person that you are, and keep on doing your art the way you like!

What is art? - If it brings joy to the creator, great, if it brings joy to the viewer that is a plus. If other people don't like it but do express an opinion that is ok as well, at least they looked at it instead of just clicking onto the next picture. I personally like people in pictures especially if it helps tell a story, so I think the above picture is great.

I am of the same mood entirely DJ, I do my art firstly for me, if people like it then that makes me happy and I feel I've achieved something. I too love your attitude, I love the way all this actually maters to you. This is a fantastic image, Poser still isn't my friend, but you craft these knockout images time after time with it. You always have my respect and admiration. Keep on doing what you do best DJ...

Great picture! And to enter the on going discussion: for me it is ART and more than that it is WORK!!! First of all from all the guys who made the objects (some for free- unbelievable!) and than from the one who composed them. I also started playing aroung with those programms and I have to say I have not come so far to dare to post a pic. The arranging of the people (giving them good natural(!)lookingposes) and the lighting so that it looks real or at least intersting is sometimes a PITA - but also the fun of it right? So keep on posting such good images, pardon ART, so I could get some good inspiration for my projects ;-) Resume: yours is art as well as someone who draws some circles on linen and where this hangs now in Guggenheim or another museum...

Gawd, it annoys me when something like this happens and you have every right to be upset, Djeser. We come here to enjoy ourselves, communicate with others about our passion for digital works and share our creations. Unfortunately there are people in any large group who feel the need to stupidly attack others out of jealousy or silliness or spite. Stupid and childish is what they are. Hey, look at it this way: You've proved yourself to be one of the most popular Vue artists here or you wouldn't have been attacked the way you were. Right? So you just keep on doing what you have been, creating wonderful imagery. Your work is special to most of us so don't let some clown bring you down. This is excellent BTW!

Nice scene!! Art is basic human expression and therefore can't be done poorly or improperly. Ignore the idiots in the world who have'nt figured that out and keep expressing yourself however you see fit.
