BIOMy full name is Heinz Dieter Hermann Karl Nachtigall, born 1974. I live in Tingen, a beautiful town near Stuttgart in the south west of Germany. Since I was a little kid I drew. As teenager I got seriously interested in art. I am interested in and like various kinds of art. I studied chemistry because paradoxically it never occured to me, that I actually could make my passion a profession. So now I try change my career. For drawing I prefer pencil, ink, charcoal and pastell crayons. Brushes I only use for miniature painting - I just can't get a feeling for a canvas. I experimented with Coreldraw which lateron led to the 3D-Realm, to Rhinoceros 3d, to be exact - although I recently started to learn Maya. I started to work with soapstone and fell in love this material; it is really awesome to work with - you should try it some time!
I usually hang out in the Rhinoceros 3d Forum, since I'd like to make my living with 3d-design and 3d-applications. I also lurk in other forums (insite and offsite) because it's is so inspiring and stunning to see the works of others - usually I find their work much better and creative then mine *g*. So I work really hard to get better following my motto: Vision is nothing without skill!

First the spikes seemed impractical, but they'd make the halberd hard to grab from one's hand.. Maybe you should still make the actual handle little longer, this would be heavy to carry around.. :) Gruesome EQ!

Actually the spikes on halfsphere above the lower handel is a protection around the higher handle (similar as a saber). I think i have to update the picture from another angle so u can see that this device is actually a twohanded weapon. THX for the commen :-).

I think it's beautifully modeled, can't wait to see what you do when you start playing with Ray Tracers for rendering!
