Description

Is the Sea Serpent, Fact Or Fiction? Over the past several millennia there have been stories about sea serpents and sea monsters. Science is finding that they might not be as fictitious as we sometimes believe. Was the legendary sea serpent actually an Oarfish? Giant Oarfish are one of the strangest looking fish that you will ever see. The oarfish is the longest bony fish in the sea. Also known as the ribbon fish, it can grow up to 50 feet in length. The oarfish is easily distinguished by its shiny, silvery body and its bright red crest that runs the entire length of its body. Oarfish live in the deep ocean at depths down to 3000 feet. It is believed that the oarfish may have been responsible for the many sightings of sea serpents reported by ancient mariners. This is a great image. Sea serpents are something we will never really know about for sure cause some of these creatures are so elusive. Nice work on this pic. The fog around that ship is just perfect.

Excellent job Wade! The tinkering you did with this has made it even better.

This is really good now, placing the serpent deeper in the water has given it a better scale. Very well done Wade. 8)

Very nice and oily water texture. And I like the way the ship looms out of the fog.

Love the way you placed the ship into the mist !! Maybe the water could be a bit rougher and darker (blue/green) to give it that ocean-look, but I don't know if that's what you want ofcourse :)

Merefolk, sea-serpents, the Loch Ness Monster, the sargaso sea, sirens, the Bermuda Triangle, all have their own explanations, we just haven't discovered them yet. Great pic! Great atmosphere. I can't wait to see the look ont he sailors' faces...well done!
