Description

"The fifth element are us" Date of these photos: August 22, 2003 for the August Challenge in the Photography Forum, the same day that: "Cuz I wish that I could stay" Burnt forests and pollution, the distance between these two places where I took the two photos is of ten kilometers, but don't worry, be happy; eat your hamburger and watch the TV

We are definitely not the best element of the nature's puzzle... and we do act like destructive pests too often. A strong and true statement, Francesc, illustrated with mastery. Vote.

A very powerful and moving photograph that speaks volumes about the problems our world faces with environmental pollution. Very well done!

I am so blessed to live in the country. Unfortunately I forget about the "Wicked Witch" who reaches out and touches us unawares. I don't like to be reminded, but I know it is necessary. Very powerful and thought provoking.

Ooh! How lucky I am to be in the Countryside! Here I am only Poisoned by DDT Spray and Abundant Animal Effluent that runs into the River, raising the Mercury Level...even Fish can't handle. Ooh! A lovely walk in the Native Bush....but, be careful of the Cyanide and 1080 Poison...laid to eradicate the Pests introduced by Man. Sometimes I fear it is too late....

Wow. Scathingly sarcastic words for the masses of consumer whores. This is one of my faves of your tri-images.

Yes..as Tedz says so elloquently..we have not been very good stewards of what God has so richly blessed us with...greed rules the dominion of the earth...I want off this Rock...Come Lord Jesus

it is a fact that factorys can cohabit with nature if taken the necessary security and anti pollution measures, it is something rather easy to do and with long time benefits to the planet, but still ... something such a few have done till now, and i will not even talk about the 3rd world countryes, gosh my headache is comin' again!!!

Agree with Niutek about us.. The long exposure time gives a "fast motion" to the image and I like this very much.. Beautiful work.

Thought provoking indeed, which is excellent and something we don't do enough of:( There are many elements here that I like; the way that the clouds align with the branches, how you have made the 2 halves make a mountain with the tree on top, combined with the stunning shot at the top that is composed so well and the exposure is just perfect to create the effect:) Tremendous thought and attention to detail in this excellent image, the trademarks of our AOM:))
