Some wonderful person on Renderosity gave me a set of "hair and fur" custom brushes for Photoshop--they are just dots set to make a continous line, and if you are doing hair from scratch I have found them incredibly useful! Maybe If you do a search for Photoshop brushes you might find them, or someone may remember where they were. I found that you can use them with the smudge tool, too, which would be fun here if you wanted to extend Lilith's hair.
