Description
This sketch is my version of
"The Apostle Paul" by
Rembrandt...circa 1635...
referenced from a photo, found on
"Web Gallery of Art" at http://www.kfki.hu/~arthp/welcome.html.
The sketch was accomplished with
Stonehenge "Fawn" paper, 5H, H, HB
pencils and .3 HB, and .5 B
mechanical pencils. The backlighting,
matting, frame and Face
bottom-bodhicreation tube)were all
accomplished through PSP8. I also did
some postwork with the Apostle Paul's
hair, beard and clothing through PSP8.
Thank you for stopping by! I really
appreciate it!...Cheryl

You are really pressing the authentication curator now. It is one on the possibile uses for Poser. I don't think his left shoulder can do that. If it can and he has very broad shoulders as a man then his head is not in the right place. If his head is in the right place then the angle of the vee in his jacket is not right or more likely it is a subtle shift of curve to fit his chest. Trying to proves this line of reasoning of course is like trying to prove that Jesus ate a lot of apples before going to the cross and threw one away even as he was being lifted to hang on it. To give back what drafting praise I might almost have taken away, let me say the direction of the pen is just superb!

it's always very difficult to paint saints, for the aura they have that it's uneasy to express. But here you've reached a wonderful balance between nobleness and fervor. An amazing work, with so deep inspiration. Kisses :)
