Description

It's been harder and harder for me to make a follow-up each time I post a picture. After Curaya my artistic batteries were completely flat and I couldn't create anything. I've been recharging the last week or so, and now I'm ready to start posting once again.. It's an old WIP I never completed, but with my new acquiring of "XFrog Tropical" I had the models I needed to finish it. The atmosphere is a non-volumetric as Vue still can't handle alphamaps and volumetrics very good. I really hope you like it. I'm definately never going to create another image with as many trees and palms;) Thanks for viewing! - Thomas

Beautiful as always, Thomas! And I agree with wabe...different themes tend to help out with the old creativity blocks and I'd love to see you do a take on the egrets ;-)!!

I can understand why you find it difficult to do follow-ups when you kee producing images of such quality - yet somehow you do seem to just keep on getting better. This is a stunning picture and a definite vote-getter.

Also without all that trees, in background, the tropical environment is made perfect by the atmosphere. BRAVISSIMO again, Thomas, and my vote!

Cockjuice : Only the leaves on the trees are alphamaps. The rest is models :) Concerning Egrets : Believe it or not, but I really wanted to add an egret or too standing one leg in the shallow water. Unfornutanely I don't own the model just now, but expect an egret or a couple of flamingos, to appear in some of my future images ;)

awesome thomas! i know alphas and volumtrics is a little problem. my only suggestion is the size of the sun. is a little bit to large. (imo) the rest is unbelieveable!
