Why is this in the Bryce Gallery?

I think I spot a 3D element in that lower brick wall but I also am not sure why this is posted here. The explosion looks ok though.

As an urban explosion such as a gas leak the blast is way hot. An incinderary device maybe; that would give you the white hot and the small fragments. Natural Gas leak would give you more red/blue tinged flame and streamers of fire. Home made stuff that goes boom also is cooler, redder, and smoky. I dont know about some urban nasty stuff like a meth lab - but I would guess red and smoke. Does that give you any clues? BTW - I love "H", whoever she is. How about some more of her? LOL.

ERR YES IT IS BRYCE ACTUALLY

If the building IS Bryce, I would like to see it in a less blurry capacity. If the explosion is coming from the house, I doubt the glare would blot out the link fencing. This actually appears to be a burning fence.

I'm not sure about the optics related to the explosion. If it's very bright, I think it WILL burn out the fence blurred image, both in the eye of a human and in the lenses of a camera, so for me it's OK. __ And, personally, I don't understand why people are bashing this with "Bryce" or "non-Bryce" stuff. It's rendered in Bryce, I assume, so who cares. You go on with your work, Steve, because for what I saw til now it's really cool. I think the image is "great" (because I don't like too much the non-perfect AA on the blurred fence), but I'll rate it "excellent" because the "needs work" it has now seems a completely out-of-topic judgement.

Considering how unless you're a Hollywood studio setting off explosions near residential (particularly urban) buildings is a no-no on the order of ten years in prison, and the tree's a tad fakey looking, I'll assume it's most likely actually Bryce- never mind that it'd be a sad person indeed who had to "cheat" to impress a handful of strangers on a render board. In which case, you've achieved a photorealistic render and all the ignorant bitchings should be judged the highest compliments. I must note that your attention to detail is flawless. I particularly like the fade to blue in the corner, and the little bit of a tree one can see behind the building, precisely like a camera would film it. Though it confuses me that you'd go through all that effort and yet leave everything so heavily pixelated, which ruins the whole effect, as I'd assume nobody wants to pretend they're filming with a cheap digital camera. One bit of advice, actually- the smoke's a bit long. In an actual explosion, unless it's a magnesium flare or sparkler or summat, if the fireball's still sparking it won't have had enough time to generate smoke. Nothing that anyone'd really notice unless they were looking, but just a suggestion.

unfortunatley the 'blurriness' and pixelation comnes from the fact that its captured from the AVI that was converted to mpeg. I could go back and get a render from the original file but i really haven't the time...sorry!
