Description

This little number is called the Wings Roadster 02, because it was my second decent attempt at making a roadster type car in Wings3D. Anyhow this render took quite a long time (a couple of days, spread out with multiple saves), probably due to lighting and reflective materials. The total intersect attempts was something like 6.82 trillion. Yep, trillion. I wondered why it was so slow - but went "whoa!" when it finished and the stats popped up. The computer rendering this one ran at 800MHz, it's not all that fast by current standards. Also, the car is a freebie of mine. Check it out sometime. It's available in the .wings format.

interesting, better textures probably? render took some days? which hardware did you use? but the reflective white modern material on the ground is cool, I used it too in my modern construction which you can see in my gallery :) thanks anyway :) david.

The floor is reflective, the paint is reflective, the headlights are obviously reflective, the polished granite wall is reflective, and the metal parts of the car are reflective. Throw in some multiple lights, etc. and you get some serious number crunching happening.

Computer used for this one is a HP Pavilion 8755C running PIII-850MHz. It is slow by todays standard with new computers running over 2GHz, and having mobo's clocked a lot faster than this 'puter's (233?) I belive they're pushing 500 something now? I'll have to build me one of those... Heheh

Oh yeah, if you care to see the mesh and a bit of the modestly detailed interior then check out this link:
