Description

The background was taken this summer on the east coast of Massachusetts. The ship (HMS Victory by Hankster) was rendered in Cinema 4D then I did a quite a bit of post work in Photoshop to complete the image. Enjoy Landlovers. . . Arrrrgg

With a catastrophic wreck as this, why aren't the masts a tangle of wreckage over the side of the ship? And where is the gaping whole in the bow and under the waterline where the ship smashed and dragged herself across the jagged rocks? Where's the flotsom and jetsom of debris littering the shore? (deck guns, bodies, wood railings, equipment, torn rigging?) Where are the local beachcomber/scavangers that always picked the bodies and the wreck clean of surviving equipment and cargo? This is a good start, but think realistically. Try looking through old photo research books at the library on ship wrecks, they are a good visual source to show a wrecked ship...

FitArtistSF - Lessee now, The masts held up good and didn't take too much abuse from the storm. The masts? are still wrapped up..see? Deck guns? didn't have any. bodies? who knows? Is is possible the ship could have rode in on a storm surge and got beached? It doesn't have to be an old ship wreck. If you want your kind of realism, go to a history museum. You won't find what you want here because most of these images I post come from imagination. Have you researched imagination? Oh, the gaping hole in the bow? the smurfs came in and fixed it up nice just before the winter soltice that year.
