I've noticed that many artists here get inspiration for their works from music and literature. Well, I get mine from cooking! I'm a dedicated low-carber and am always trying different foods. Cook something new; paint something new! So as a thank you for looking at my latest visual exploration, I give you the following recipe. Enjoy! Denny Splendid Cheesecake 1 tablespoon butter 2 lbs. cream cheese 1 1/3 cup granular Splenda (or sugar) 3 jumbo eggs, room temperature 3 teaspoons vanilla extract 1/4 cup heavy cream 8 ounces sour cream Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Rub butter on the bottom and sides of a springform pan. Using a mixer, blend cream cheese, 1 cup of Splenda, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, 1/4 cup heavy cream, and 1/4 cup sour cream. Pour ingredients into greased pan and bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Turn off oven and allow to bake for another 10 minutes. Remove cake from oven and let cool ten minutes on top of a wire rack. Mix remaining sour cream, 1/3 cup Splenda, and 1 teaspoon vanilla until smooth. Spread mixture evenly over cake and place back into the oven at 325 degrees for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and cool thoroughly on wire rack. Chill completely before eating.
