Taken a couple of years ago, but never posted here in the gallery. So I thought it was time. :) Taken with my Sony Maciva, no flash. Location: The oldest house here in St. Augustine.

these kind of shots are endlessly touching to my eyes and soul. I always try to wonder about the life that was there when the place was more lively. Then the composition reminds me always of macchiaioli's style. I am just expecting some of Verga's sailors to appear (Verga was a writer of past century in Italy...) Compliments for your pictures. They have lotta sense :) and a striking beauty.

Interresting and very beautiful. Like Meli I think how it once was. Is it some kind of fireplace in front of the chair? The room is still filled with atmosphere!

Did a quick search; and this came up: "The Oldest House" (St. Augustine, Fl): The Gonzalez-Alvarez House is daubed the oldest house in the oldest city in America, St. Augustine, Fl. St. Augustine was founded in 1565 and its early homes fell prey to repeated raids by the English and pirates. Yet this site has continuously housed Europeans and Americans since the early 1600s." And St. Augustine, FL is the oldest city in the US, founded approx. 50 yrs before Jamestown, VA. :)

Great lighting! Wondering just what that thing is in front of the chair - and is that a space heater there on the right border of the pic? ;-)
