hears the pain.... no words can take that away... so many lost,so many wasted lives...all in the name of power and politics...not all germans are bad, many secretly helped the Jews at great risk to themselves and their families.. i know, my grandfather died helping the Jews flee Germany.

Too bad your image has too many comments... everyone who is has some love for other people must remember that horror and teach their children not to help the bastards who wants to repeat it. If your image could be rated it deserves a 10. As rating is unavailable, it deserves an 11.

I support your message although I think that you are somewhat in danger of walking into the "hate is fun" trap - this time directed against Germans per se. I also think that learning from history doesn't get us far if we don't face our own hipocrisies. One thing that puzzled me was that Holland was the country with the highest rate of Jews who were reported by neighbors etc to the local collaborating police, occupation forces and Nazi security organizations. In no country a smaller percentage of hidden Jews survived, not even in Germany itself which was three times as long under Nazi control as Holland. Anne Frank would not have died in Bergen-Belsen if her Dutch neighbors had not betrayed her and her family. Facing collaboration is not nice but it's just too easy to whitewash oneself by concentraing exclusively on the Germans (whose crimes we are well aware of). What puzzles me most is that one of the first things Holland did after liberation was to buy together a few dozen warships and steam half around the globe to re-enslave the Indonesians who had been so cheeky as to declare their independence from colonialism. Which resulted in a most blody and long war. I have talked with German and Dutch people about these dark chapters of history. My personal conclusion is that it is pretty much the Dutch who should do some homework in coming to terms with their history.
