I have always wanted to create a chess scene so.........I made this one in maya 4.5.

The chess set and board is excellent, but the enviroment (reflective ground, walls) is pretty bad. Put it in a good enviroment (maybe composite it into a real life image, take a light probe and whatever), and this'll look fantastic.

I would have to agree with Novakog on this. The modelling and texturing of the board and pieces is excellent, but your choice of background draws attention away from them, instead of to them, IMO.

just change the backround
