Nefertiti, The Sun Queen... Queen of Memphis Disappeared without a trace may she rest in peace. Maveris' "Deshret" Egyptian Crown Donatella Texture by Syyd Background by me I may not be historically correct on the type of crown she is wearing. She was the wife of Akhenaten, who embodied the spirit of the the Amarna Age. They transformed the religion, art and politics in Egypt, with their vision and worship of the sun God Aten Ra. Nefertiti produced six royal offspring, but they were all girls, so she was put out of the bloodline, and became the Queen of Memphis. She disappeared without a trace, and it was recently said that her final mummified remains were at long last found and identified, (see Discovery channel program) whether or not this is true is still a matter of speculation. She was considered to be one of the most beautiful Queens of egypt, and her trademark was her long swanlike neck. She is depicted in the Amarna style of art which said to be more expressive, by her famous bust which I believe resides in a museum in Berlin.

Wonderfully done Syyd! I just love your artwork. And the features of Nefertiti and perfect. Though, the Deshret (Red Crown) was the crown of Upper Egypt, when the two kingdoms of Ancient Egypt were joined by King Mene, he as well joined the crowns to show his dominion over the two lands. Don't you just love Mav's Egyptian Crown set? :) Great job again, Syyd!
