Spangfract
Madelbrot derivativ, only 4 iterations each iteration is associated with a different orbit shape and value, each orbit was render separatly, a special emboss filter was apply and a shadow was created all of it was assemble in PS.
With all of this I want to created a 3D feeling but the result was not so great :-(

I think it has a very distinct 3d feeling! There are great shadows on that wonderful background.
