Description

4th in the series. "Normally invisible to the naked eye, this time-lapse infrared photo reveals the high-power Mobile Free-Electron Tactical Laser Array (MFETLA) in action, used for target designation and range-finding. The Laser Imaging System is used to create a real-time 3D generated terrain that displays an area of 10km surrounding the vehicle, with an accuracy of 5mm. This terrain data set is used to plot a path, allowing high speed mobility over rough terrain. In addition, any movement detected by the array is automatically tracked and identified." Ah, original idea, I like it.. this would be a thing to run for your life. I just wonder does it cut it's own leg when it walks :P More stuff like this!

the laser looks good but there's some holes on ur laser concept there... look like there's some hills around the mech so how can the laser map an accurate 3D terrain for 10 km? does it bend around the hills?

I like the idea too. And it's obvious if there's hills in the way then the terrain map won't go the full 10km! Who says this won't just pull a 1km map becuase of the hills?

Very cool! A good idea, the only major drawback is that enemy forces only needs to follow the beams to find it (with help of a ir-camera). But perhaps the lasers arent active all the time?

Idea and concept is excellent, it makes one hell of a shield though, maybe it could electronically fry any guidance system of enemy missiles. Love how you did the laser array.

Great work on the model and interesting concept, but the concept itself is suicide. That tank is constantly radiating its own target designation laser and would be very easy to hit with energy guided weapons like missiles or guided bombs. Additionally enemy units could pinpoint the exact location of the vehicle very easily with relatively cheap and primitive sensors. Essentially, every form of active sensor system has this drawback, which is why those systems should not be used unless necessary.

DYNAMIC VISUAL !! The laser array seems to be 360 degrees (probably in a spherical-array format)....so, I guess this robot-machine could detect anything incoming on land, sea or air and instantly destroy it !!! If a missile can't get to this dang thing......how does the enemy take it out ?? Yet, if the enemy places massive explosive devices surrounding this monster fighting-machine....it won't be able to move. Thus, this is a great concept for a stable non-moving ROBOT FIGHTING-MACHINE !!! [the final problem: how can you feed it an endless supply of ammo without the ammo-suppliers being knocked out by the enemy ??]. I love thinking about the possibilities. __GREAT WORK !!!! _____ Signed: Robert Singletary [ SINGLETARY GALLERY pops up NO. 1 0n google search ]. Friday April 29, 2005__6:06 A.M.
