Description
Playing with light, shadows and reflections. There are a lot of procedures that I get right and when I try to repeat it I just cannot remember how it was done, so I keep repeating the process until I get the technique fixed in my mind.
Some post work here with the wet sand and the surf, it was done in ZBrush. I have not found out how to do this in Vue as yet.
Credits: bent palm tree from Shoop, Andy and Thomas, they all heard my cry and sent it to me. Thank you it is appreciated.Well I found the technique in gebe's tutorials, so I can now do my own.
Thanks for looking.
Stay healthy.
Deevee,
Joe.

Nice job. Shorelines are a real problem, I have no options for postwork so when you get this mastered within vue let us all know. Love the shadows and reflections.

Thanks for your comments they are welcomed. Gebe has something at her site but that is for rolling surf, I have not seen a gentle surf posted as yet. I am working on it, I might have to model it in in ZBrush save as an obj or dxf so it can be imported into Vue. However I am sure it can be done in Vue, I am not at all familiar with the painting capabilities of Vue if it does have any.

Nice work Joe! I have also found the blending of two planes such as water and ground, sand, wall etc. Can be very challenging. However, with certain materials by adding a bit of reflection that the reflection it's self can pick up the water image and blend it across the opposing material. This works very good with like a sea wall. Many times the water can be mapped as well to show a darker or lighter color at its edge. Keep experimenting you are on the right path. The post work is done well but let us be honest it is but a short cut to achieving something that Vue can do. Vue I am discovering is much more of a program than it realizes. We as the artist only use it like a brush on canvas and in so each artist creates their own style over time with trial and error and study. Thanks for sharing this great scene. `shoop

Thanks Rick! That is the frustrating part. I feel within myself that it can be done but I just have not hit it as yet. I developed the ability to wait while treating animals Rick. Normally you have to wait on them because there is no forcing them as they kick, scratch, and bite! Together or individually we will get it I am sure of that!

The reflections are beautiful... It seems a lovely place to be... white sand, clear water...

Nice one, Joe; and if postwork helps you get the effect you're trying for, I'm all for it. Every program has it's limitations, after all!

This is really nice, Dee. Nothing wrong with postwork. I've found most of the masters of any program tend to tweak a little in postwork. Some just don't admit it ~L~ so we struggle to do as well without and end up spinning our wheels.
