Description

This post is really nothing but me sharing my pain with the community that inspires me. On 9-11-03(figures) while my son was using the computer.... It crashed like I have never seen a comp crash before. I was forced to low level both my hard drives and to lose "ALL" files, work, textures, music etc.... All gone never to be seen again. I was just a step away from completing my latest project of a steam engine type machine. My preliminary render of the finished state looked so good that even my wife was impressed on how real it looked, and she never makes comments on my works. I tried like hell to recover anything I could but to no avail. I wont try to recreate it, but will suck it up and move onto a new project and smile the whole way. Thanks for letting me vent. I am sure many of you know how it feels.

yEP,Been there a time or 3 myself!! Could your local elec. service be the cause? We have bad lines here-normal surge protectors useless-ended up replaceing burt power suply ,ect, motherbord, ect*** So after 2 times in one month got a battery pack surge protector(ABOUT 50$-WAL-MART )NO more troubles. But it just temp.holds power for short time-long enough to downloud and save stuff untill powers back up.XP has a viruse that Crashes like you desribed too!! Hate reformatting -rather get a tooth pulled!! Good luck to you!!

I feel your pain. I had my OS completely fry 'cause of a ethernet card fried my system, and had to upgrade to XP. I lost so much stuff that now as I've had to recoop EVERYTHING is backed up on a regular basis. I don't trust my PC one bit - neither should anyone else. Hope to see new and exciting things come from your way!

You know, you be amazed how quickly you're able to rebuild from your memory. I had it happened to me also where all my files - 7 years worth destroyed in seconds. Now I have rebuilt and got even better than I was before. Never give up the fight! Best of luck!!!!
