This work is rather old, at this viewing (my first); but I had to make it a favorite (also my first). My comment from my favorites list: Although this image does, indeed, illustrate a specific concept, I think it transcends the usual meaning of illustration. The image goes beyond the pose-light-render-postwork routine and crosses into the arena of fine art. The style and execution are fully wedded to the concept, and the selected moment--or combination of moments-- depicted combine to capture the emotional division the subject is feeling and not only to succinctly express it, but also to draw it up into the viewer's (at least, this viewer's) consciousness, from the place where it was last buried. Very effective, evocative work!
