I've looked at the other images on your gallery and I have to say your modelling and texturing is extremely good... In fact exceptionally good, in light of the fact that the lighting is so awful! I would suggest you get a GOOD book on photographic lighting (for photographers), and NOT that book by Jeremy Birn, which tells nothing really. Basically you are using too many lights by far and commiting a cardinal error of having more than one cast shadow, in fact three shadows. You should aim for one visible shadow. Set your scenes up with ONE light source to get the overall feel of the scene and to give you the basic modelling of your objects. That ONE light is the main light source- ie the room ceiling light or light coming through the window or the sun etc. All other lighting is fill or doing the job that global illumination does- ie bounced and reflected light, but not casting noticeable shadows. Yes I know that you can get two shadows occuring from two competing light sources, but the rule is mostly to go for one. I've only added this crit because I think your modelling is totally ace...

I do like the model but the lighting and background image need to be improved. turner

Excellent modeling and texturing!!! I do agree with Martin K about your lighting and his explanation of what shoud be done, as it is now the lighting goes everywhere and nowhere. I dont agree with him about Jeremy Birns book though. I think the book gives you the basics and more about CG lighting. I work as a photographer and as a 3D constructor and Jeremys book really bridged me over to CG lighting from my studio photography lighting. :D

Excellent model and textures, agree with above, use "realistic lights" for the main light (they are area lights) as well as soft shadows...

Excellent model. It does look like it's hovering though. But that doesn't stop the fact that the model is very well done indeed.

I own a camera shop specialising in vintage cameras in the UK. It's nice to see your image and I can confirm that it's very accurate - love the textures. Great work!
