Description

The arachnid fleet ravage the galaxy, pillaging planets and destroying entire civilisations with no conscience or purpose. Weapons of an ancient war, they simply fulfill the programming that their mysterious alien creators set in motion over a millennia ago. Modelled in Bryce with some post in Photoshop

I like this one! I have some suggestions though. On the arachnid models, add some kind of hydrolic system on the inside of the legs' joints. And also, add some kind of rocket blast comming from the middle "abdomen" of the two arachnids in the backgrounds to give them the feel of landing kind of like a lunar lander. Great models and sense of scale though!

ApexB - Hydraulics would only be needed if the legs were articulated in some way!, these are meant to be the landing vehicles/droids, they move by hovering using magnetic fields from the 'leg' tips (same as landing) hence no primitive rocket boosters! - nice ideas Apex, just not very imaginative!

It gives the feeling of enormous size here, very very effective. I love it :)

LOVE IT! I have to disagree with ApexB, krome; adding those things are a "human way" of looking at technology, and not an alien way. I wish more people used their imaginations like you do; picturing what can be based off of what is! Love it! BIG TIME!

First of all, WOW! Love the land based war machines design!! Reminds me of a SW comic story about an alien race that launched war machines that were on "Auto-pilot" and ransacked the galaxy. Wonderful image! Fabulous composition!
