The overall composition and textures are excellent - slight repetition of the pattern on the steps - but this doesn't detract from the effect of the whole picture. Great work!!

This is just gorgeous! I love it all - and the lighting adds a special touch for me, because I've seen this magical light in the forests of Mt. Pinos.

I like your version better-- it's less sentimental, and has nice crisp details--very nice indeed!

A strong composition, though how much of that is down to the original, which I am unfamiliar with, I cannot say. Your reworking of it is very impressive though and a beautiful image in its own right. I dont thnk the texture on the steps is too obviously repetitive, but i would like to have seen a little bump mappping added. The one thing I find slightly incongruous (attractive though it may be) is the material used for the balls on top of the gate posts. I think these would have been better rendered in some weathered concrete material.

Lovely composition James. My only suggestion would be to reconsider the texture of the orbs on the gate posts. It seems a little out of place in such a rustic haven as the one you have created. Perhaps stone might suit better (IMHO). Aside from that one suggestion all I can say is thank you for sharing such wonderful art with us!
