I've always been a fan of science fiction and comic books. As such, I've toyed for a while with the idea of doing a graphic novel based upon my story "Battle for Allos." In an attempt to flee cumpulsory military service our hero (if you can call him that - he's actually quite a deplorable guy at first,) Drexler inadvertantly crashes on the planet Allos, a forsaken rock that appeared uninhabited and inhospitable to human life. To his surprise he meets Zazel, female leader of a small group of humans who are all that is left of a once massive colony. It turns out that the enemy, a race of aliens bent on exterminating all humans, has an important outpost here. Drexler finds himself fighting the war he was trying to avoid just to stay alive. I thought this image would do nicely for a cover page. It's rendered in Poser, but massive Photoshop postwork gives the cartoonish look that I was going for.
