Description

I took to heart words of advice from people who viewed the first version, and I didn't like the PoV, so this is a re-do. Comments in other languages welcome.

Do you use "realistic sunlight penetration" and "multi-directional shadow-lighting? Because the sky's color don't work well with te terrain's lighting IMHO, strange! water and POV are XLt,

Agree with Sylvain about pov and water, and surface map is much better :)

@ grouzni: I do use realistic sunlight penetration, but not multi-directional shadow lighting. I can try it and see what happens. I do a lot of photography, and I frequently use a polarizing lens to darken the sky, and I usually darken it as much as I can. So I am used to that looking natural. @ hillrunner: all I did was render the scene at 1600x1200 and then reduce. I don't always have time to do that, unfortunately. :(

I like the terrain, water and the sky. The render is not appropriate but I don't now why.

Nice work Pat. Two things: Try setting the gamma at 1.24; also, regarding the POV, see if you can run the camera to the shore on the right (just a little up on the beach, and swing the camera slightly to the left. If you can, elevate the camera a little bit. I like this scene a lot.
