It will work better if you have more layers in your surface. Go study some mountains, rocks, or photos of them, and see how they are not a uniform color; they're weatherbeaten, and have different kinds of rock and grass. Also, if your sun angle is a little bit different, you will get interesting shadows that add a lot to the picture. They bring out the structure of your hills. The water can use a little something extra as well. A bit of surf might work well, or play with the waves. Nice transparency effect. Of course, there won't be snow under the water. :) Good work on the clouds.
