Without microsoft you wouldnt sit there with your photoshopped image, no you dont NEED Windows for it, but the fact is that without microsoft the entire computer industry would be smaller than it is now. I dont like Bill Gates either but im realistic, secondly, so u dont like corporation? Sorry to break this to you but the future is nothing without corporations, they are the ones that have enugh money to spend on important things such as medical research and development and space exploration. And in a small or big way, microsoft helps in this by contributing to the worlds global information-sharing nature. Thank you signs off ;D

Nice idea and clever work. Though I agree that no man should have so much money/power while others have non, the very fact that we use his products here to communicate means we appreciate what he did and are willing to pay for it. That makes us then the the people, that gave him the power and therefore in my opinion should not complain. Just plug out the comp.

To save time, Ive heard this variation and all the other little justifications like it a hundred times over and Im aware that some peoples experience and knowledge of politics, history, finance, invention and innovation is so limited that they actually believe it. Just to clear up a few points: A: People like John Knoll developed Photoshop, Gates and MS had nothing to do with it. All Gates did was stealcode from others and patch it together, very badly. B: Size of the Comp Industry is irrelevant, Windoze and DOS are based on shockingly bad code, their own writers admit this, hence the high downtime of the Industry spent trying to fix it, bug fixes, crashes etc. C: There is actually a few more possible systems aside from unregulated free-market capatilism, some of them actually work for SOCIETY as a whole, not just create wealth and copyright kickbacks for a priveleged few who then throw the rest of the world scraps and expect gratitude. And medical research and development and space exploration is all possible without the propriatorial corporations, history has shown that cheers ;-)

Couldn't agree more, even regulated Capitalism would be better than this mess, it's like "Sizzlers: all you can eat" bar with the huge obese guzzling slobs packed around the table so tightly that no-one else gets a chance to eat a thing except for the few who are thankfull for the pitiful scraps they get and tell everyone "hey, this isn't so bad" And I don't use Windows, Never have and never will, haven't got the time to waste ;-) cheers

Greed does indeed infest much of our society. But be sure, that Socialism is slavery. Capitalism is freedom, with Judeo-Christian Spirituality as its infrastructure. Without religion, Capitalism is doomed to self implosion. Economics is the super-structure of society, and religion is the infrastructure. Capitalism has its faults, because humans have faults. But make no mistake, socialism is pure evil: the pinnacle of irony, as it exclaims freedom while they are taking the "shackle of greed" off, they are putting on the "shackle of the state."

Nice try, but your fear of change does not justify allowing hundreds of thousands to starve and die from lack of food and medicine that statistics and records tell us is available in abundance and the only thing stopping it reaching the very people that need it is corporations. Medical corporations refuse to allow places like Africa and the third world access to drugs and cures, including AID drugs unless they pay, causing thousands to die and companies like Monsanto and Novartis patent rice and then making it the standard so that the countries either simply can not afford to feed their people or go into crippling debt for generations simply to survive, which eventually leads to deaths on other fronts. - - - Regarding Capitalism mixed with Christian Religion will save the world, might work in comic books but using Capitalism to impose a religious order over people is about as narrow minded as it can get.- - - As for Socialism is pure EVIL, that seems to be a reference to a B-grade movie, not reality. Change happens whether we like it or not. The choice is only to drive it or be driven by it. It's sad that in america today, i have to pay a higher price on the exact same medication that is being sold in mexico and in canada for no other reason than because the corporations can get away with it. I'm not going to attack greed outright. The search of a dollar has led to many innovations that have helped our society along. However when it is taken to the extreme it is a detriment to society and a free market place as in the case of MS. To put it simply we evolve and so should our superstructure and infrastructure as you put it. However there is a wide variety of religions currently benifiting from capitlism. Out dated systems must be tossed asside or replaced inorder to keep a civilization thriving and surviving. Many great civilizations in the past have dropped away due to not keeping a balance in the areas they advanced in. As a nations population and technology advances, the underlying systems must also advance or we are doomed to repeat the failures of other great civilizations.
